The aim of Zazen and how to practice Zazen

●The aim of Zazen is to find out the real state of our minds. In order to attain this goal we have to secure both our mental and physical strength.
Zazen keeps everything around us as it is, and it helps us relax and regain our strength mentally and physically. Then we can live and work in good condition. We should leave our workplace and spend time away from the daily life and get together to practice Zazen with your friends by sharing our experiences with each other. With our friends we can continue Zazen since it is difficult to practice alone. Sitting and breathing in Zazen practice, we can live in good shape. Through Zazen we attain our ideal state.


●How to practice Zazen and the effect.

Zazen is not a hard exercise but an easy one to start doing. We can do Zazen by just crossing our legs as the way we can manage to bend. We can do Zazen laying our bodies even when we are sick in bed.



  ★Posture:

Straight up your backbone and make your head face to the ceiling. Put the center of gravity on your bottom sitting quietly in a balanced manner, opening your eyes and staring at the point one meter away from you.


★Breath:

Breathing is the most important for Zazen. You should take calm and deep breath with your abdomen. When you get used to breathing with your stomach you feel splendidness of the breath. This abdominal breathing makes you healthy.


★State of mind:

There are a couple of ways to balance your state of mind and you need to learn them directly in practice.

Those mentioned above are all explanations about Zazen. If you understand them to some extent, please take part in the Zazen meeting and experience them in practice. Then you will get to the real and perfect state of yourself that cannot be attained by knowledge or wisdom.
